How do you as a crafter who does mostly feminine crafts create
something masculine?
That was the challenge I had this month when I opened my box
from Angela Holts Designs, Design team that is being sponsored by the Awesome
Graphic 45 the whole month of Jan.
How many of us has seen this gorgeous collection from Graphic
45 and shied away from it because you were not quite sure how to do a masculine
project?
I’ve always loved this line “A Proper Gentleman” but until
this month, never worked with it. I tell
you I racked my brain, trying to come up with something awesome, something
masculine that showed off this paper to its full glory. Not just me but the
other ladies on the team have also come up with some awesome knock your socks
off projects, using Graphic 45’s “A Proper Gentleman” I hope my team and I can
inspire you to create something masculine that you will be proud of.
My First Project is this Desk Caddy:
In addition to the paper line “A Proper Gentleman” from
Graphic 45, I also used Graphic 45’s 12x12 Matchbook box for the bottom drawer
and a cigar box for the top.
My next
step was what can I trim it with that will coordinate with the paper and still
have that masculine feel. Burlap! Now
why didn’t I think of this before? Along with some of the other images from the
paper line and some scrabble tiles, I think it came together well. What do you
think? Here are more photos
This whole month will be Graphic 45! Be sure to come back on
Jan 7th for the start of our first Angela Holts Designs Blog Hop:
to
see the rest of the coordinating projects I make with this paper line, to go
with my Desk Caddy. Along with a few
feminine projects using another Graphic 45 Paper Line I adore.
Hope to see you there...
